Selling Step 1 – Zillow
So you’re thinking about selling your home. What’s the first thing you do? Well, you probably do like everyone else – jump on Zillow to get your Zestimate value, right? But can you rely on Zillow values when selling your home in Roseburg OR?
Honestly, I can almost guarantee you that the Zillow values aren’t going to be accurate because it hardly ever is. I’ve been doing this a long time and I know how they arrive at those auto-estimates and how they compare with real market values.
Relying on Zillow value Zestimates when selling your home is a game and it’s always best to look at real market data, market trends, and adjust the value based objectively on location, condition, and other important data unavailable to automatic software.
There are a few reasons Zestimates are not to be relied on when selling, and I’d be happy to share that with you, just get a hold of me.
Bottom Line
Can you rely on Zillow values when selling? Kind of… Just look at Zillow and other automated software as a starting point only. Just be careful when you start relying solely on Zillow, Redfin, realtor.com, or even an agent who might use automated home valuing software that just quickly spits out an instant value for you.
If you’re wanting a real and accurate value, get it from a qualified professional. Don’t leave money on the table when selling your house. It’s way too big of a deal to do that. I do understand the early steps of preparing to sell, and you might just not be ready to talk to an agent. But, if and when that time comes, I’m here to help with no pressure.
