Can You Still Sell Your House During The Coronavirus Pandemic in Roseburg?

Can You Still Sell Your House During The Coronavirus Pandemic?

We are dealing with unprecedented times! Just last month we were going on with our lives as normal, then WHAM!, COVID-19 came in like a whirlwind and turned the world on its head. As we all adapt to these changing ways of life, people might be wondering if everything has totally stopped? The answer is no.

Whether we are working from home, learning online, or keeping up with friends on Zoom, things are still moving along. Different but not stopped. The real estate market also continues to remain strong, even through the way we do business might look a little differently.

Roseburg is a strong community, located in a strong country. Adapting is what we do. I and my team are dedicated to helping you with all of your real estate needs no matter what is going on in the world. Here are a few questions we have received since this crazy Coronavirus began. If you have any other questions, we are happy to answer them. Just reach out by phone, text, or click here to shoot me an email.

Can you still sell your house during the coronavirus pandemic?

Yes, absolutely! In fact, our team put 4 homes in escrow last week! There are still tons of houses being sold, both traditionally as well as direct home buyers. Buyers usually go online to search for homes anyway, and right now they have more time to do it! Websites like Facebook and Zillow have reported an increase in traffic as people are spending more time at home… and online.

What if I need to sell right away?

Were you stuck in a difficult situation before all of this started? Maybe you’re relocating or facing foreclosure. I’ve spoken to people in foreclosure, people who needed to sell before buying their forever home, people who have tenants, and one couple going through a divorce and needing to sell. I completely understand your needs and have the experience to get your house sold fast while still receiving the highest possible price!

How can The Sky Team help me sell my house in Roseburg with everything going on?

We adapt… If you would prefer, we can hop on a call to discuss your selling goals and your situation. We can talk on the phone or have a Zoom call, whichever is the easiest for you. We can even do a property walk through with you via video conference! All of this can be done from the comfort of your home without having to come in contact with anyone or go anywhere. No matter what is going on out there, we are still able to serve you, determine the value of your house, and help you sell it quickly. Of course, I am happy to schedule a face-to-face meeting with you to view your home, as long as we are allowed to.

Should I wait for the Coronavirus to be over before trying to sell my house?

Your peace and comfort level will really determine whether you should wait or not, and I completely understand if you’re thinking about holding off until this passes. From a selling standpoint, though, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that. Why? There are many home sellers doing exactly that! Right now might just be the best time to sell because there is less competition!

Many people are holding off, but does that make it the right decision for you and your family? Truth is, there are still plenty of people out there who are ready, willing, and able to buy a house right now! Buyers are still hungry for properties, and yours might be the perfect fit for one of them. By getting the selling process started right now, it ensures you’ll be able to sell faster than those who wait.

“Look at what the majority of people are doing, and do the exact opposite, and you’ll probably never go wrong for as long as you live” Earl Nightingale

Can I stay in the house until this is all over?

Yes, for sure! You might be a little hesitant to sell right now because you don’t want to be out house shopping for a replacement home during all of this. If you need to stay in the home until this has subsided, we are more than happy to work with you. We are very flexible in our process and will do whatever it takes to make it easy for you to sell your house during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Keep in mind, you have the right to counter the closing date when you get an offer. Even if the buyer asks for a faster closing, we can usually extend closing to accommodate everyone.

Tips From the CDC

While my team wants to serve our community the best we can through all of this, we also want people to remain safe and aware. The CDC is continuously updating its information to help keep people protected from this awful virus. Basic remedies can help… remember to wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face, and disinfect the common surfaces throughout the home. Most importantly, check in on your neighbors to make sure they are doing ok and have the supplies they need. We are all in this together! You might also check the OHSU Coronavirus news.

If you have had to deal with the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, either from being infected or not being able to work, we understand you may need to sell your house now more than ever before. Even if you weren’t dealing with a difficult situation before COVID 19, you may be now, pushing you even more towards selling. Our team understands what you are going through and we’re helping others in the same position. We are here for you and are prepared to help you with any challenging situation you may be facing.
